What we collect

When you get a quote or make a booking, we collect your name, email, phone number, pickup and drop-off addresses, and details of what you're moving. If you apply to drive with us, we also collect your VAT or self-employed status, licence details and insurance information. If you pay a deposit, payment is handled entirely by Stripe — we never see or store your full card number.

Why we collect it, and our legal basis

We use this information to calculate your price, assign a driver, process payment, send booking confirmations and reminders, and respond to enquiries — processing necessary to perform the contract when you book with us, or based on your consent for optional marketing communications. We do not sell your information to third parties.

Payment processing

Deposits are processed by Stripe, a PCI-compliant payment processor. Stripe handles and stores your card details under its own privacy policy; we only receive confirmation that payment succeeded and the last four digits of your card for your receipt.

Distance and address lookups

To calculate your price we send the addresses you enter to a mapping provider (Google, or a free fallback service) to calculate distance and confirm the address is valid. This is used solely to price and route your job.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to run the booking wizard and keep you logged into the admin area if you're staff. With your consent, we also use analytics cookies to understand site usage. See our cookie policy for details and how to opt out.

How long we keep it

Booking records are kept for 6 years to meet HMRC record-keeping requirements. Quotes that never become a booking are deleted after 60 days. You can ask us to delete other personal information at any time, subject to these legal retention requirements.

Your rights under UK GDPR

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018, you can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, restrict or object to certain processing, and request a copy in a portable format. Contact us at info@twinsremovals.com to make a request. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's supervisory authority.
